Description
A complete invoicing system, inside a Google Sheet.
Freelance Invoice Generator is a time log, rate calculator, invoice generator, and payment tracker in one—built specifically for film and video freelancers. Log your days on one tab and a finished, branded invoice assembles itself on the next: labor lines, kit fees, mileage, per diem, tax, and balance due. Export it as a clean PDF or email it to your client without leaving the sheet, then watch it in a log that tracks what’s been sent, what’s been paid, and what’s overdue.
It’s a real production tool, not a template with a formula in it. The rate rules live in a settings table you control, the invoice carries your logo and colors, and the whole thing runs in the Google account you already have. Nothing to install, nothing to subscribe to, no invoicing platform taking a cut.
Built for how set work actually pays.
10-hour and 12-hour guarantee days with tiered OT and double time. Hourly gigs. Half days, travel days, flat project fees. Turnaround invasion billed automatically when tonight’s wrap runs into tomorrow’s call—even past midnight. Every rule lives in a plain settings table, so if your deal memo says something different, change the number and the math follows. Type times however they land in your head—730p, 1930, 7:30 pm—the sheet straightens them out.
An invoice that looks like you.
Your logo, your accent color, your payment terms. Pick a client and the Bill To block fills itself. Kit fees, mileage, and per diem pre-fill from your defaults. Then one menu click exports a clean, branded PDF to your Drive or emails it to your client directly from the sheet, attachment and all.
It follows the money, too.
Every invoice lands in a log with its own aging view: due dates, days overdue in red, paid in green, and a running total of everything still outstanding. Invoice numbers advance automatically. Start the next job with one click.
What You Get Upon Purchase
After checkout you’ll receive a link to make your own copy of the sheet. No subscription. No per-invoice fee. No recurring anything.
About Permissions
The first time you run it, Google will ask you to authorize the sheet — here’s exactly what it’s asking for and why. The tool needs to edit this spreadsheet only (that’s the calculator itself), connect to an external service (it fetches this sheet’s own PDF export — nothing else), send email as you (the Email Invoice feature; invoices come from your address, which is why clients can just hit reply), and access your Drive (to save exported PDFs into an “Invoices” folder). You may also see Google’s “unverified app” screen — that’s standard for tools that run as your own private script rather than a published add-on. Everything runs inside your Google account: no third-party servers, no data collection, and the full code is readable right in your copy of the sheet.
